Thorn Song Has First Foal

COALINGA, Calif. (Mar. 14, 2012) -- Thorn Song, multiple grade 1 winner of the Shoemaker Mile and Keeneland’s Shadwell Turf Mile and $1,132,700, was represented by his first foal at John Harris’ farm near Coalinga, CA on March 5.

His grey colt out of the Flying Continental mare Lots of Sunshine arrived at 5:25 a.m. and weighed in at a healthy 133 pounds. Owned by Harris Farms, Lots of Sunshine is a half-sister to four stakes horses, including graded stakes performers Zippersup ($335,500, G2) and Red Sun ($146,900, G2).
