Impala a homebred of the Hat Ranch, broke his maiden at Santa Anita in a maiden special weight earning $28,200. Impala is a half-brother to stakes-placed Filaree ($319,257)!
Rockeyhillcat (two-year-old) breaks his maiden on July 14th.
Radar Contact (out of Talk Faster) broke his maiden at Santa Anita on March 21st going the 6.5 furlongs in 1:17.28 and earned $28,200 for his victory in a maiden allowance event. This Harris Farms, Inc. homebred defeated a field of 10 other three-year-olds. Following this winning effort he came right back and captured an allowance race at 1 1/16 mile on April 23rd at Hollywood Park worth $31,800 to the winner.
No Cal Bread out of Encinitas, by Theatrical (Ire) a $85,000-1997 Del Mar Yearling Sale graduate, defeats a $650,000 two-year-old sale horse for his maiden victory. This three-year-old was bred in California by Ross Harris and covered the distance in 1:43. January 23rd update: No Cal Bread won his second in a row by ten on January 22nd improving his overall record in six starts to: 2 wins, 2 seconds, 1 third and over $87,000 in earnings.
Multiple winner and now a stakes winner (the Bam's Penny S. on October 31st at Bay Meadows) JULIETIQUETTE, a two-year-old daughter of Bold Juliet, by Bold Tropic. Is owned by Joseph and Carolyn Marelich and Art Sherman, she was bred in California by Marvin E. Garrett and is trained by Art Sherman.
Romeo Water, out of Encinitas by Theatrical, was a 2 length winner while breaking his maiden at Oak Tree on November 5th. This colt was bred in California by Ross Harris.

Flying Inspiration, out of My Sensation by Mining, won her fourth start on April 20th, this three-year-old filly is perfect with four wins in four starts and earnings over $80,000.
GO AROUND a three-year-old colt out of Psychic Power, by Triple Bend broke his maiden going a flat mile on February 24th. He was bred in California by Harris Farms, Inc.
STEWARDI CAN a three-year-old filly out of Canadian Jill, by Canadian Gil broke her maiden on February 18th. She was bred in California by the Robert H. Walter Family Trust.
Confirmed Flight a maiden winner at Santa Anita, by eight lengths, on February 12th is a three-year-old gelding out of Class Confirmed by Relaunch. He was bred in California by Nick Alexander and is owned by Winsong Farms.
Allsox a three-year-old colt breaks his maiden on the first day of the 1998 Oaklawn Park meet. Out of Layout, by Explodent this colt was bred in California by Garrett Redmond and broke his maiden in a one mile event.
Continental Lea, breaks her maiden at Hollywood Park (1 1/16 mile) on November 16th. This filly is out of Dominant Lea (Domineering) and was bred in California by her owners Dr. and Mrs. Thomas E. Phillips.
Griselle, wins a straight maiden event at Del Mar on July 26th! She returned to run second in the GII Del Mar Debutante and the GII Sorrento Stakes.
Finished 1998 ranked 34th in the state with only two crops to have raced, look out 1999!
1998 Del Mar Yearling Sale-Flying Continentals six Del Mar yearlings sold for an average of $38,167, with a high price of $55,000. Three of the top five yearlings sold at Del Mar this summer were Flying Continentals!
